Sea-level change and the supralittoral environment: Potential impact on a splashpool habitat on the Ligurian coast (NW Mediterranean)

Climate change represents one of the major drivers habitat modification that is affecting a wide variety environments. This paper describes different 2100 sea-level scenarios related greenhouse gas mitigation policies (Representative Concentration Pathways - RCPs). work was conducted on supralittoral situated Genova (Ligurian Sea), has covered an eventual environmental conditions driven by SLR, which might impact Culicid Acartomyiamariae, resident species. The wave run-up stemming from RCPs simulated using XBeach model, infer SLR A. mariae life cycle; results were coupled with data obtained field surveys. model outputs highlighted variation oscillations under common conditions, affect area terms water input hydric balance, cycle, highly dependent temperature salinity.
